A VISIT to a second-hand shop had one woman leaving with an epic purchase.
She found a major designer label at the thrift store selling for a fraction of what it’s worth.

A Redditor posted pictures of her find on the social media platform.
She wrote, “$2.99 Bottega Veneta Nodini? Yes, please. Thank you, Savers.”
Savers is a thrift store located in Melford, a town on Long Island in New York.
A designer resale website is selling the bag at a much-higher mark up compared to what the Redditor paid.
THROW IT IN THE BAG
The savvy shopper opened up about finding the Bottega Veneta bag in the comments in response to another Redditor.
“I thought my fashion finds were impressive, but now I just feel like an amateur thrifter. Congrats on the find,” the person wrote.
“Well, honestly, I was just looking for cute cheap vintage woven bags, and I was excited I found one,” the Redditor replied.
“And then I looked inside and I thought, ‘You know what? Even if this is fake it’s cute,’ but I had a feeling it wasn’t.
“It’s so funny because they price Coach bags at $75, but then they do this at $3.
“I definitely don’t find stuff like this very often, but I have found quite a few designer pieces at this one place.
“Sometimes they are priced way too high, though.”
She explained that she authenticated the purchase herself by finding the serial number inside of the bag.
CROWD PLEASER
The Bottega Veneta is currently up for grabs from luxury reseller Sac de Lux.
The same style, called the Nappa Intrecciato Nodini Crossbody Bag, is going for $650 second-hand.
The original price of the piece is $2,700, but it is an older style, so resellers are the best bet to snag the bag.
“Pricing in thrift stores is wild. It probably has to do with the employees’ familiarity with brands,” one Redditor deduced.
“Most normies recognize mall brands or ‘accessible luxury’ like Coach, but not necessarily Bottega Veneta.”
“I always check the main handbag section, not just the higher priced ones in a special section,” another said.
“[I do this] because thrift store staff usually only recognize the well-known middle tier bags.
“My Savers has gotten better at separating the nicer bags from the junk, but occasionally one finds something special they have overlooked.
“Congrats, I do not have any experience authenticating Bottega Veneta, but for $3 it is certainly cute.”
