The shopper took to Reddit’s Thrift Store Hauls forum to share photographs of their latest purchase.

SOUP-ERB SAVING

The shopper excitedly shared that they bought a Vitamix for just $15.

“Got a functional, cosmetically perfect Vitamix Creations II for $15 at this little hole-in-the-wall thrift store,” the Redditor wrote under the handle Jay_skrilla.

“I need to go there more often because last time I went I got a stainless steel Dayton shop vac for $20.”

The kitchen appliance appeared to have no visible marks or scratches in the snaps.

The shopper revealed they used rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball to wipe off the price that was written on it before use.

Vitamix Creations II 48-oz 13-in-1 Variable Speed Blender is currently reduced from $479 to $290 at QVC.

According to the manufacturer, it can be used for smoothies, juices, soups, and other recipes.

BARGAIN HUNTERS

The Redditor had a variety of fruits and vegetables in the background of their photo and showed a freshly blended mixture in their Vitamix.

Hundreds of people up-voted the thrift store post and gushed in the comment section.

“I would have left the 15 on it so I could brag forever! Great find!” one person said.

“You’re the lucky ducky today!” another wrote.

“Major score, good job,” a third chimed in.

“*OUTSTANDING* & *CONGRATS*!!! It’s the same exact model I’ve owned since Jan 2012 & paid $399 + tax for it,” a fourth commented.

“Great find! Currently on the hunt for one myself,” another said.

Thrifting tips

According to the experts at Martha Stewart, there are several ways to improve your chances of finding a bargain.

  • Be the first one to arrive at thrift stores
  • Visit secondhand retailers and garage sales frequently
  • Discuss your wishlist with the staff
  • Have an eye for big brands
  • Don’t just look at eye-level shelves

The thrift store purchase comes after another shopper bought a highly coveted kitchen appliance at a secondhand store.

Posting on the same Reddit forum, the user Wolfwalker9 shared a photo of a Le Creuset kettle bought for $5.

They said it was originally sold by the brand for $114.

One person described the condition of the item as “fantastic,” while another said it looked “brand new.”
